In order for a student to exempt quater/semester exams, a student MUST meet
the current existing exam exemption criteria (Student Handbook page 83a) in
ADDITION to the following:
A student must have met the FCAT Reading and FCAT Mathematics
graduation requirement.
A student (9-12) who has not met both the FCAT Reading and FCAT Mathematics
graduation requirement may not exempt a core subject exam.
The subject area core courses include the following (regular, honors level
and above):
English - English I, II, III, VI
Mathematics: Algebra1, Algebra 1A/1B, Liberal Arts, Geometry, and College
Review requirement (all other science credits above the 3rd credit may be
exempted)
Social Studies: American Government, World History, American History, and
Economics
Pre-IB and IB English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies
Students who meet all other criteria except the FCAT graduation requirement
may exempt exams in elective courses and subject area not listed above.
Students who meet the 10th grade FCAT graduation requirement may exempt exams.
